We are not a booking agency asking you to commit to a date and hope that enough people turn up. We establish the audience first, then approach you. If you agree to the appearance, we prepare it, guide everyone through it and host it live.

What Private Appearances does
Audience demand first
Interest in an appearance is gathered before any guest is asked to commit. As a general operating model we aim for approximately twice the audience interest that the intended event capacity requires — for an event planned for 100 audience places, we would generally look for around 200 expressions of interest.
An expression of interest is not a booking, not a ticket, not a promise that the event will happen, and not a charge. Nobody pays to express interest.
Guest agreement second
Once sufficient genuine interest exists, we approach the guest or their authorised representative with evidence that an audience already wants the appearance.
No guest is advertised as confirmed simply because people have expressed interest. The appearance proceeds only once the guest or representative has agreed to it.
We prepare and host the event
Private Appearances prepares the event, guides the guest and the audience through what they need to do, and hosts the appearance live. The guest does not need to provide a host. The representative does not need to run or operate anything.
Approximately two hours, online
The usual format is an approximately two-hour hosted live online appearance, normally delivered using Zoom, between a guest and an audience that has already asked for it.
Commercial terms are agreed beforehand. The applicable payment split is settled with the guest or representative before the appearance takes place, and event income is handled through Stripe. Nothing about the commercial arrangement is left until afterwards.
