How it works
Six steps, in this order.
The order matters. The audience comes first and the guest is approached second, so that nobody is asked to commit to an appearance nobody has asked for.
Audience interest
Interest in an appearance is gathered before the guest is asked to commit to anything. As a general operating model we aim for approximately twice the interest that the intended event capacity requires — around 200 expressions of interest for an event planned at 100 audience places.
An expression of interest is not a booking, not a ticket, not a promise that the event will happen, and not a charge.
The guest is approached
Once sufficient genuine interest exists, Private Appearances approaches the guest or their authorised representative and shows them the interest that has accumulated.
No guest is advertised as confirmed merely because people have expressed interest.
Terms are agreed
The appearance proceeds only after the guest or their representative has agreed to the event and its terms. Commercial terms and the applicable payment split are agreed in advance, before anything is prepared or offered to an audience.
The event is prepared
Private Appearances prepares the event. Once the appearance has been agreed, the guest and the audience are guided through what each of them needs to do, step by step, up to the day itself.
Once everything is agreed, we guide you through the rest.
Private Appearances hosts the event
We host the live appearance, normally around two hours, and manage the audience throughout. The guest does not need to provide their own host. The guest’s agent or representative does not need to host or operate the event — they are welcome to attend as an audience member if they wish.
Wrap and payment
Event money is handled through Stripe. Following wrap-up, the guest and their agent or representative are paid according to the commercial split agreed for that appearance.
